Jean-Sebastien Fabry joins CanCham to strengthen partnerships and business opportunities
Through a Catalyste+ partnership, the strategic advisor will support business matching, women-led enterprises and lasting Canada-Cambodia commercial connections.
CanCham Cambodia has welcomed Jean-Sebastien Fabry as Strategic Advisor to help build business partnerships and turn connections across Canadian, Quebec, Francophone and Cambodian networks into practical opportunities for companies.
His appointment comes through the Chamber's partnership with Catalyste+, as Cambodia prepares to host the 20th Francophonie Summit in Phnom Penh. Fabry brings experience in international trade, business development and stakeholder engagement, with a role combining strategic guidance and hands-on support.
From introductions to business matching
Partnership building and targeted business matching are two of the assignment's main priorities. The work will focus on strengthening collaboration between organisations and designing activities that connect companies with relevant counterparts, supporting market entry and growth.
The distinction matters for members: a wider network creates more potential contacts, while business matching focuses on which connections can serve a company's particular needs. The assignment is intended to help CanCham bring both elements into its programming around the summit and FrancoTech.
Supporting women-led businesses and the Chamber's capacity
Women's entrepreneurship is another priority. The partnership will support women-led small and medium-sized enterprises through networks, visibility and access to new markets, in line with the Women's Empowerment Principles.
Alongside that outward-facing work, Fabry will help strengthen CanCham's tools, processes and internal capacity. This part of the assignment is intended to support future initiatives and make the benefits of the collaboration last beyond a single event.
Catalyste+ connects skilled Canadian professionals with organisations in emerging markets to support inclusive growth, stronger institutions and sustainable economic development. The CanCham assignment brings that approach into the Chamber's work with its members and partners.
The longer-term ambition is to build commercial relationships that continue after the summit, leaving the Chamber better equipped to connect businesses and develop further cooperation between Canada and Cambodia.
