CanCham joins government and business partners in Village Francophone preparations
A stakeholder meeting explored the vision, activities and partnership opportunities for a major side event of the 2026 Francophonie Summit.
CanCham Cambodia joined government, diplomatic and private-sector stakeholders on 11 June 2026 to help shape preparations for Phnom Penh's Village Francophone, a major side event of the 2026 Francophonie Summit.
The Ministry of Women's Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism co-chaired the meeting. Discussion covered the event's vision, key activities and opportunities for partners to contribute.
Village Francophone is intended to showcase cultural exchange, innovation and cooperation across the Francophone community. The preparation process brings different institutions together around how those themes can be represented in Phnom Penh.
For CanCham, the meeting connects the Chamber's Canadian and Cambodian business relationships with a wider Francophone network. It also creates a setting in which private-sector participants can engage with the planning conversation alongside government and diplomatic representatives.
The June meeting focused on preparation and potential collaboration. CanCham's participation forms part of its engagement with the summit's wider programme and the relationships that can develop around it.
