Law or Lore? CanCham members explore property and contract questions through real-life scenarios
An interactive session at VLP Law Office brought practical legal questions into discussion, covering property transactions, leasing and service contracts.
Property transactions, leases and service contracts became the subject of an interactive quiz when CanCham's Urban Development Committee met at VLP Law Office on 10 July 2026.
Titled 'Law or Lore? A Light Quiz on Property and Related Business in Cambodia', the session was facilitated by Margaret Lau and her team. Real-life scenarios provided the starting point for discussion of legal considerations that arise in everyday business.
The format made room for participants to consider a situation, ask questions and explore its practical implications with legal professionals. Rather than separating property from the contracts around it, the session brought transactions, leasing and service arrangements into the same conversation.
That combination is relevant to the committee's focus on the built environment: business activity involves not only the property itself, but also the agreements through which it is used and supported.
CanCham thanked Lau and the VLP team for facilitating the discussion and sharing practical approaches to common business challenges. The session offered a forum for general learning and exchange; questions about a particular transaction still require advice on that transaction's own facts.
